What is Duela?

Duela is a shared fantasy world built for stories by multiple writers.

Its foundation is the idea that belief shapes reality through a force called The Essence. Beneath the world is The System, a hidden structure of levels, classes, and stats that almost nobody understands.

Duela is not meant to have one single definitive storyline. It is a world where many stories can exist beside each other.

Core ideas

• The Essence responds to belief, perception, rumor, titles, fear, worship, and collective expectation.
• The System exists beneath reality, but is hidden from most people.
• Gods can emerge through worship, authority, and belief.
• Writers may create new characters, regions, gods, cultures, monsters, and stories.
• The cosmology is fixed, but much of the world is open.

The wiki is being built as a reference space for the setting, its stories, and its shared-world structure.
