This page explains how to contribute to Duela.
Duela is a shared fantasy world. Contributors may write stories, create characters, develop regions, expand cultures, invent monsters, build branches, and improve reference pages.

What you can create
Contributors may create:
- Stories
- Characters
- Nations
- Cities
- Villages
- Gods
- Cultures
- Magical traditions
- Monsters
- Factions
- Branches from existing stories
Most of Duela is open territory.
What you should be careful with
Do not casually rewrite:
- The Essence
- The System
- Old God
- Bubble Theory
- Hauru
- Major established nations
- Major established gods
- Existing stories by other contributors
If you want to make a major change, mark it clearly as a branch or discuss it first.
Posting a story
A basic story page should include:
- Title
- Short description
- Status
- Story text
- Branches from this story
- Related pages
- Categories
Use Stories for the current story index.
Branching from a story
A branch should:
- Credit the original story
- Link back to the original story
- State that it is a branch
- Avoid pretending to replace the original
Categories
Add useful categories to pages.

Write your part of the world clearly enough that others can build from it.
