The world is not fully mapped. Writers may create new nations, city-states, tribes, republics, trade leagues, and frontier settlements.

Duela is currently in a tense historical period.

Monarchies dominate much of the world, but republics and trade unions exist. Magical industry is beginning to emerge in some places. Crime, piracy, adventuring, and political tension are increasing.

Writers may invent new nations and regions.

Major established nations should not be casually destroyed, conquered, or radically rewritten without treating the consequences seriously.
